“I feel like I’m always on a treadmill, keeping things going”
If you’re feeling exhausted, you’re not the only one - over 75% of cultural and environmental sector workers say they don’t have enough rest. This matters: lack of rest impacts our health, creative thinking, and risk of future burnout.
The barriers to rest are considerable: unrealistic expectations from organisations, the wider sector (we’re ‘passionate about work’) and even ourselves (maybe feeling ‘not good enough’). Feeling permission to take the rest you need can feel uncomfortable - but it’s possible. In the Radical Rest Network we share stories and resources about successful change, and support each other to prioritise rest.
